摘要: Most neurons receive thousands of synaptic inputs onto widely spread dendrites. Because dendritic filtering, distant synapses should have less efficacy than proximal ones. To investigate this, we characterized the amplitude and kinetics excitatory input across apical dendrites CA1 pyramidal using dual whole-cell recordings. We found that EPSP increases with distance from soma, counterbalancing filtering effects reducing location dependence somatic amplitude. Dendritic current injections a multi-compartmental computer model demonstrated membrane properties only minor role in elevating local EPSP. Instead progressive increase conductance seems to be primarily responsible for normalizing amplitudes individual inputs.
