摘要: New Zealand is a small remote country with 4.4 million increasingly ethnically diverse inhabitants. There well-entrenched tradition of publicly funded social services including healthcare, education and welfare. Public expectations the capabilities welfare state have become tempered in recent years by legacy free-market reforms which began late 1980s almost-stagnant economy has yet to recover from 2008 global recession. Most these are multi-disciplinary ICUs—only one speciality ICU (cardiovascular) there paediatric ICU. intensive units post-surgical (mostly cardiac) patients three private hospitals.
