摘要: Complete surgical resection of glioblastoma is difficult due to the invasive nature this primary brain tumor, for which molecular mechanisms behind remain poorly understood. The three human ELMO genes play key roles in cellular motility, and have been linked metastasis poor prognosis other cancer types. aim study was investigate methylation levels their correlation clinical characteristics outcome patients diagnosed with glioblastoma. To measure DNA we designed pyrosequencing assays targeting promoter CpG island each genes. These were applied diagnostic tumor specimens from a well-characterized cohort 121 who received standard treatment consisting surgery, radiation therapy, plus concomitant adjuvant chemotherapy. ELMO1 ELMO2 generally low, whereas ELMO3 high, biopsies. Thirteen, six, 18 biopsies defined as aberrantly methylated ELMO1, ELMO2, ELMO3, respectively. There no significant associations between status any gene islands overall survival, progression-free including intracranial location. Therefore, unlikely prognostic value
