摘要: In a multimedia communications system (100), multimedia-based answering (200) lowers the amount of air interface bandwidth used to send mail messages. When called party is unavailable, user terminal (102) given an option message for unavailable (300, 302, 304). If wants message, requirements call are renegotiated reduce sending (306). The then transmitted over-the-air (208), where buffered, transcoded (if necessary) and stored until retrieves it (308, 310).
