摘要: Viral hepatitis is a serious health problem throughout the world. No recent prevalence data on A, B and C were available for population in Flanders, Belgium. For this reason, sero-epidemiological study was undertaken 1993-1994 sample of general population. The purpose to obtain clear picture C. Between April 1993 February 1994, 4,058 blood samples drawn collected 10 hospitals Flanders. group representative Flemish A seroprevalence 55.1% found. In non-Belgian residents HAV significantly higher than Belgians (62% versus 52%; chi2 = 8.05; p 0.005). B. 9.9% showed serological evidence markers: 6.9% participants positive anti-HBs/anti-HBc, 0.7% appeared be HBsAg 3.5% solely anti-HBs positive. HBV markers 6.9%, lower compared 13.4% among non-Belgians (chi 2 14.05; 0.00018). 4055 serum analysed serology by second generation anti-HCV tests. Anti-HCV detected 0.87% samples. statistically significant difference found HCV prevalnece between non-Belgians. Results should help policy makers their decisions most appropriate vaccination strategy effective prevention
