摘要: The Semnopithecus entellus can be broadly classified into two morphotypes based on tail carriage, namely the northern and southern types (NT & ST). borderline between these runs along Tapti-Godavari rivers in peninsular India. However there have been anecdotal reports of range extension NT To investigate this scenario we undertook an intensive survey S. districts states Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka Andhra Pradesh. GPS coordinates were mapped using MapInfo professional software resulting map was compared with generated by Roonwal. Results indicate that limit fall further south Roonwal’s borderline. This incongruence NTs distribution present study might due to natural some areas or a product sampling artifact. Furthermore parts Pradesh human mediated translocations also contributed extension.
