摘要: Purpose To compare the efficacy, complications and patient preference of two different techniques for vertical bone augmentation posterior mandible: blocks harvested from iliac crest versus anorganic bovine (Bio-Oss(R)) were used as inlays. Materials methods Ten partially edentulous patients, requiring bilateral mandible (having 5 to 7mm residual crestal height at least 5mm thickness above mandibular canal allow implant placement) had their mandibles randomly allocated both interventions. Resorbable barriers cover grafts. After 4 months, implants inserted, after a further provisional prostheses inserted. Definitive delivered months later. Prosthesis failures, amount vertically regenerated measured on computerised tomography (CT) scans, any complications, time needed fully recover mental nerve sensitivity all recorded. All patients followed up 1 month delivery final restorations. Results Up post-loading no dropped out or excluded. Both procedures obtained significant gain achieved desired results. Four grafting, autogenous loss was average 1.1mm (P=0.088) Bio-Oss 0.6mm (P=0.001). There statistically differences in maintenance among procedures. The sides treated with recovered full significantly faster than those (4 6.3 days). Three occurred during graft healing; group one determining complete failure procedure. No prosthesis could be placed planed area. occurrence between placement complication (probably consequence previous complication). Patients preferred treatment Bio-Oss: 3 weeks seven three found treatments 'equally good' (odds ratio 0.045 [5% confidence interval (CI) 0.00 0.87], P=0.04). One prostheses, eight 0.03 [95% CI 0.64], P=0.02). Conclusions This pilot study suggests that it might sensible use rather interpositional resorbed mandible, discomfort is reduced.
