摘要: Abstract The efficient use of biomass-derived waste streams from the food and drink industry is very important for achieving a circular economy. In this work, pretreatment based on 1-butanol (butanosolv) was used to fractionate draff, by-product brewing distilling industries, leading solid pulp, hemicellulose derived-fraction pseudo lignin. pulp enriched in glucans showed 4-fold improvement enzymatic hydrolysis experiments relative starting biomass. could be fermented an ABE process producing 32g/100g solvents. hemicellulose-derived fraction analysed by 2D HSQC NMR found contain mixture predominantly butoxylated monosaccharides. hydrolase enzymes present Cellic® CTec3 were hydrolyse selectively glucose xylose derived butyl β-pyranose monomers. Alternatively, non-selective both anomers achieved using TFA/H2O giving native sugars fermentation recovered 1-butanol. A detailed characterization lignin also achieved.
