Examining Sex Work from the Client's Perspective: Assessing Johns Using on-line Data

摘要: Academic research on prostitution focuses the prostitute, rather than clients, who are called johns. This limits our understanding of methods and reasons individuals solicit sex. However, johns increasingly use computer mediated communications to discuss sex work. Their comments provide insight into attitudes qualitative study utilizes a sample posts from active Web forums for in 10 U.S. cities. The findings indicate importance on-line discussions identify workers, as well manage external risks. Implications law enforcement deviance also discussed.
