摘要: Abstract Composite ZrO 2 -SiO gels were prepared using fumed silica and ZrOCl solution as starting materials. Morphological evolution of particles formed during heat treatment, the particle sizes composites investigated by transmission electron microscopy. The morphology experiences several changes i.e. initially loose sponge-like body to dense agglomerates, then spherical which are embedded in matrix, finally larger particles. stability tetragonal zirconia is discussed light particle-size effect. martensitic transformation (to monoclinic phase) was found occur situ, when irradiated a high-energy beam.
