摘要: Minerals are substances of either ‘inorganic’ or ‘metallic’ character. From a purely crystallographic point view it would appear unscientific to prefer minerals other as objects for structure determination, only chance selection possible compounds. Thus, was be expected that major progress in ‘crystallography’ made by people, who did not care whether the object investigation mineral not. The fact many mineralogists influence were hesitant consider structural work on non-minerals belonging realm mineralogy may part responsible present situation, which crystallography can no longer considered mineralogy, before 1912. Crystallography is now science its own right with facets and roots, being one others, among them mathematics, physics, chemistry biology. Previously desirable physicists, chemists biologists know included an education crystallography. This situation well demonstrated some sentences von Laue (1943) wrote commemorating 100th birthday P. Groth Professor Mineralogy at Munich time when conceived his idea.
