摘要: Abstract The ontogenetic development of serotonin, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid, and norepinephrine in brain regions peripheral tissues was examined normal protein malnourished rats from birth to age 300 days. rats, which received a diet low starting 5 weeks prior conception, showed significantly elevated tissue levels the biogenic amines acid at birth. This is one earliest ages malnutrition has been reported affect major biochemical measure brain. In concentrations serotonin 5-hydroxydoleacetic remained older ages, up days, with largest effects (up 200% increase) occurring subtelencephalic regions. These changes indole probably represent general metabolic alteration indoleamine metabolism since were also observed heart, lung, stomach. At most increase less pronounced than for indoles. Also, no concentration observed. With respect concentrations, appears be more sensitive insult do tissues. present results demonstrate that rearing on protein, but adequate all other respects, elevates amine content through days age.
