摘要: Celiac disease (CD) is an important cause of serum amino transferase elevation: between 5 and 10% patients with persis tent cryptogenetic transaminase elevation may have CD. In fact, a wide spectrum liver injuries in children adults be related to CD, particularly: a) mild parenchymal damage char acterized by absence any clinical signs or symptoms suggesting chronic disease, non-specific histological changes re versible on gluten-free diet; b) autoim mune etiology, including autoimmune hepatitis, primary scleros ing cholangitis, biliary cirrhosis, which associated CD but are generally unaffected gluten drawal; c) severe failure decompensated cryptoge netic potentially treatable diet. Such different types represent one same dis order where individual factors, such as genetic predisposition, precocity, duration exposure influence versibility damage. A rigorous cross-checking for asympto matic individuals and, conversely, cryptogenic disorder, end-stage failure, recommended.
