摘要: Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a glycoprotein secreted by the pituitary gland and, in concert with follicle-stimulating (FSH), plays central role reproduction. LH acts directly on gonads of each sex, binding to its receptor surface target cells and initiating cascade molecular events beginning activation specific signaling pathways ending expression gene products. In ovary, stimulates (1) outer layer primary follicle, thecal cells, produce androgens during folliculogenesis; (2) ovulation; (3) formation corpus luteum, which secretes progesterone. These structures their products prepare female reproductive tract for fertilization, implantation, pregnancy. testis, this gonadotropin synthesis Leydig cells. The are required fetal development male phenotype, sexual maturation mammal, spermatogenesis adult testis. both sexes, gonadal stimulation that enter circulation regulate secretion modifying release hypothalamic secretagogue, gonadotropin-releasing (GnRH), or acting (Fig. 1) Figure 1.  This schematic general introduction concept regulation action. hypothalamus GnRH, (Pit) stimulate (+) LH. gonad secrete steroids act (right-hand side figure), (left-hand inhibit (−) LH.
