摘要: The End TB Strategy mandates that no tuberculosis (TB)-affected households face catastrophic costs due to TB. However, evidence is limited evaluate socioeconomic support achieve this change in policy and practice. objective of the present study was investigate economic effects a TB-specific intervention. The setting 32 shantytown communities Peru. participants were from consecutive patients throughout treatment administered by national programme. intervention consisted social through household visits community meetings, cash transfers conditional upon screening contacts, adhering treatment/chemoprophylaxis engaging with support. Data collected assess TB-affected costs. Patient interviews conducted at initiation then monthly for 6 months. From February 2014 June 2015, 312 recruited, which 135 randomised receive intervention. Cash transfer total value averaged US$173 (3.5% households' average annual income) mitigated 20% TB-related Households less likely incur (30% (95% CI 22-38%) versus 42% 34-51%)). mitigation impact higher among poorer households. The reduced accessible households. Socioeconomic mitigating are integral strategy, our findings inform implementation these new policies.
