摘要: Power generation from intermittent renewable energy in North-West Europe is expected to increase significantly the next 20 years. This reduces predictability of electricity and increases need for flexibility demand. Data on demand response (DR) capacities large consumers limited most countries. Steel production processes are among industrial with highest DR potentials. In this study, we focus options provided by changing rate at Tata IJmuiden (which consumes 3% total consumption Netherlands). For evaluating technical have developed a linear optimization model MATLAB. The calculates optimal allocation works arising gases case call emergency balancing power. done subject constraints gas distribution systems storage potentials, plant (that use as fuel) ramp-up power that runs gases. Results show can supply 10 MW two Programme Time Units (i.e. PTU defined 15 minute period Netherlands Tennet) positive capacity an availability 97%. not enough participating current programs Netherlands, which require least longer than 1 PTU. provide 65%. Therefore, if requirements do drop program needs pool other parties order participate program. negative potential found be supplied 3 PTUs 4 doubling blast furnace capacities.
