A hybrid packet loss recovery technique in wireless ad hoc networks

摘要: TCP utilization in wireless networks poses certain problems due to its inability distinguish packet losses caused by congestion from those frequent errors, leading degraded network performance. To avoid these and minimize the effect of intensive channel contention networks, this work presents a new Hybrid ARQ technique for reliable efficient packets transfer static ad hoc network. It is combination recent FEC based Raptor coding with selective retransmission method, which outperforms purely method. In contrast most techniques, usually employ byte level FEC, we mostly use our simulations data transfer, on top less recover residual errors. Existing methods are simple parity check codes or Reed Solomon erasure decoding; raptor codes. We also introduce notion adaptive redundancy helps achieve better average performance further improve efficiency.
