摘要: This qualitative study is an inquiry into how men perceive their roles as fathers, they developed those roles, and the influence have on success of children. Interviews were conducted by author with fourteen who had previously participated in a prenatal class for new, first-time fathers. The transcribed data from these interviews triangulated interview notes, case journal. also reviewed accuracy through post-transcription telephone three interviewees. Five important themes emerged analysis data: a) saw themselves combined role educators, guides, nurturers, protectors children, b) fathers first, c) learned to be patient d) relationships other adults, e) helped children succeed letting them take risks make mistakes. research generated two theories concerning development fathering role: Fathers can engaged active participants parenting Men develop father experiences own father.
