摘要: Uterine fibroids (leiomyomata) are extremely common lesions that associated with detrimental effects including infertility and abnormal uterine bleeding. Fibroids cause molecular changes at the level of endometrium. Abnormal regulation growth factors cytokines in fibroid cells may contribute to negative endometrial effects. Understanding biology has greatly increased over last decade. Although current armamentarium Food Drug Administration-approved medical therapies is limited, there medications approved for use heavy menstrual bleeding can be used management fibroids. Emergence role pathophysiology led researchers develop novel therapeutics. Despite advances therapies, surgical remains a mainstay treatment. Destruction by interventional radiological procedures provides other effective treatments. Further experimental studies clinical trials required determine which will provide greatest benefits patients
