摘要: Abstract In this paper we describe new mammalian fossil material of bovid, giraffid, cervid and proboscidean from the Gephyra locality Pliocene deposits in lower Axios valley, which is otherwise broadly known for its Miocene mammal localities. Among artiodactyl material, several well preserved cranial specimens are described detail attributed to a species, Parabos savelisi sp. nov. Another skull Procapreolus cusanus. Furthermore, very long metatarsal Mt III + IV an indeterminate giraffid yet, notably different other synchronous Giraffidae. These mammals associated with aquatic soft-shelled Pan-Trionychidae turtle, member family that first time documented Greece. The fossils presented herein allow better estimation biodiversity area during Pliocene, greatly improves our knowledge on overall diversity northern Greece end part Neogene, especially MN 16a biozone.
