摘要: The clinical characteristics and rates of co-occurring psychiatric conditions in youth seeking treatment for a chronic tic disorder (CTD) were examined. Children adolescents (N = 126) with primary CTD diagnosis recruited randomized controlled trial. An expert clinician established diagnostic status via semi-structured interview. Participants male (78.6%), Caucasians (84.9%), mean age 11.7 years (SD 2.3) moderate-to-severe tics who met criteria Tourette’s (93.7%). Common included attention-deficit/hyperactivity (ADHD; 26%), social phobia (21%), generalized anxiety (20%), obsessive-compulsive (OCD; 19%). Motor vocal greater intensity, complexity, interference associated increased impairment. Youth should be evaluated non-OCD disorders addition to ADHD OCD. Despite the presence conditions, children more forceful, complex, and/or directly interfering may seek reduce severity.
