摘要: Adverse effects of drugs on male reproductive system can be categorized as pre-testicular, testicular, and post-testicular. Pre-testicular adverse disrupt the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, generally by interfering with endocrine function. It is known that HPG axis has roles in maintenance spermatogenesis sexual The hypothalamus secretes gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) which enters hypophyseal portal to stimulate anterior pituitary. pituitary gonadotropins, follicle-stimulating (FSH) luteinizing (LH) are vital for spermatogenesis, into blood. FSH stimulates Sertoli cells production regulatory molecules nutrients needed while LH Leydig produce secrete testosterone. Many neurotransmitters influence hypothalamic-pituitary regulation, consequently affect Psychotropic including antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers all commonly modulate dopamine, serotonin, GABA, function impairment act like endocrine-disrupting chemicals. Otherwise, studies have shown relationship between decreased sperm quality psychotropic treatment. Therefore, it important investigate frequently used during ages males determine role regulation possible pathologies.
