摘要: BACKGROUND A mixture of primary and secondary municipal wastewater sludge (WWS) was tested in 40 day semi-continuous experiments as substrate for biogas production a 2 MW agricultural plant. To support industrial decision making during periods shortage seasonal extremes characteristics, effectiveness ultrasonic enzymatic pretreatments their dual combinations were explored. RESULTS Reanalysis published data showed complex nonlinear relationship between specific ultrasound energy disintegration degree various WWS. The 5 L bench-top reactor approach demonstrated short adaptation period (15 days) to WWS an increase methane yields 7.5%, 14.9% 24.5% the most effective ultrasound, hydrolytic pretreatments, respectively. observed notably lower from past batch (Methane Yield Database V1.3). From perspective plant only sustainable full-scale deployment due significantly costs equipment installation, operation maintenance. CONCLUSION The described this study allowed sustainability analyses be performed on site-specific basis, supported pretreatment provided first full description research protocols assessment that can extended Standard Operating Procedures. © 2016 Society Chemical Industry
