摘要: Abstract In current research, the effect of Al–5Ti–1B grain refiner on structure and tensile properties Al–20%Mg alloy have been investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis were utilized to study microstructure fracture surfaces samples. Microstructural cast showed dendrites a primary α-phase solid solution within eutectic matrix which consists β-Al 3 Mg 2 intermetallic α-solid solution. The results indicated that adding caused significant rise in ultimate strength (UTS) elongation values from 168 MPa 1.2% maximum 253 MPa 2.4%, respectively. main mechanisms for observed enhancement found be due refinement grains during solidification also segregation Ti tip Al (α) dendrites. This phenomenon controls dendritic growth changes morphology this phase interconnected coarse star-like morphology.
