摘要: Silica-based materials are used in many high-tech products including microelectronics, optoelectronics, and catalysts. Siliceous sponges (Demospongiae Hexactinellida) unique their ability to synthesize silica enzymatically. We have cloned the silica-forming enzymes, silicateins, from both demosponges (marine freshwater sponges) hexactinellid sponges. The recombinant enzymes allow synthesis of under environmentally benign ambient conditions, while technical (chemical) production commonly requires high temperatures pressures, extremes pH. Silicateins can be for fabrication highly-ordered inorganic–organic composite with defined optical, electrical, mechanical properties. simple self-assembly properties silicateins which able form other metal oxides aqueous solution development novel nano(bio)technology, medicine, dentistry.
