摘要: Abstract: MSTd neurons in the behaving monkey were investigated during step-ramp smooth pursuit eye movements (SPEM), short perturbations of small visual target ongoing pursuit, and large-field stimulation inducing ocular following responses (OFR). Neurons responded with latencies to motion OFR. In contrast non-retinal SPEM followed by 100–150 ms opposite direction OFR response. Often not modulated perturbation. Although, both perturbation response are involuntary due motion, it seems very unlikely that these involved their direct control. Based on responses, we suggest our may code for gaze space based estimates self-motion extraretinal eye-in-head motion.
