摘要: In the Middle Ages there were gaols and dungeons, but punishment was for most part a spectacle. The economic changes growing popular dissent of 18th century made necessary more systematic control over individual members society, this in effect meant change from punishment, which chastised body, to reform, touched soul. Foucault shows development Western system prisons, police organizations, administrative legal hierarchies social - growth disciplinary society as whole. He also reveals that between school, factories, barracks hospitals all share common organization, it is possible use an individual's time space hour by hour.
