摘要: Raman spectroscopy and more specifically microscopy have now been established to be highly effective techniques whereby the pigments on manuscripts, paintings, enamels, ceramics, icons, polychromes papyri may identified. This situation has arisen because of many recent technical advances in instrumentation, resulting high spatial spectral resolution, excellent specificity sensitivity, fact that so objects art studied situ, without need for sampling. The results bear not only aspects restoration conservation, but also authentication dating artwork. Both speed with which key information can gathered near certainty conclusions are having a major effect world. Keywords: Raman microscopy; pigments; artwork; dating
