Automatically revising synopsis table structure

摘要: Merging adjacent rows of a synopsis table so as to increase the effectiveness regarding data skipping. Adjacent for merging are identified based on statistics regarding: (i) queries database; (ii) skipping; and (iii) usage predicates in database. Once merged, is smaller, more effective with respect skipping, while fewer computing resources (administrative, maintenance, memory, clock cycles, storage space, etc.) needed process database queries.
