摘要: Gangliosides constitute a large and heterogeneous family of acidic glycosphingolipids that contain one or more sialic acid residues are expressed in nearly all vertebrate cells. Their de novo synthesis starts at the endoplasmic reticulum is continued by combination glycosyltransferase activities Golgi complex, followed vesicular delivery to plasma membrane. At cell surface, gangliosides participate variety physiological as well pathological processes. The cloning genes for most glycosyltransferases responsible ganglioside biosynthesis has produced better understanding cellular molecular basis metabolism. In addition, ability delete groups glycosphingolipid structures mice been enormously important determining their roles. Recently, number enzymes anabolism catabolism have shown be associated with membrane, which might contribute modulate local glycolipid composition, consequently, function.
