摘要: The plant. aguaje (Mauritia flexuosa L.f.) is an Amazonian palm in the pro- cess of domestication to be cultivated as a dwarf form. In Peruvian Amazonia, it has major impact on economic, social and ecological systems. Fruit are sold take part economy Amazonia. insects. this survey, authors present 18 species insect pests observed eight different localities surroundings city Iquitos (Loreto, Peru) between 2000 2003. Among those species, four develop pulp fruit, two borers rachillae, one borer trunk petioles young leaves, bore rachillae floral buds, develops buds female flowers another damages base roots; considered most important pests: Eupalamides cyparissias Fab., Antiteuches kerzhneri Rider, Stenoma sp., Cli- nodiplosis unidentified Cecidomyiidae, Tyrannion sp. Curculionidae. Discussion. cultivation good alterna- tive cutting native palms harvest but dama- ged by planters must learn know control them. biology ecology new currently being studied.
