摘要: This study was intended to analyze the shear strength of notched ends prestressed concrete girders and evaluate ultimate capacity by testing a model with reinforcing details simpler than those currently adopted in practice. Various discrete element analyses computer program showed that it is possible identify most highly stressed regions an end block also predict likely crack pattern would occur before failure. One specimen two different tested The failure did not at either notch, notch uncongested reinforcement shown be adequate for load. provision hanger strap assembly welded bearing plate behaved well during test. As concluded from observation widths, such design straps seems possess higher degree serviceability based on large web plates embedded end. A procedure derived potential modes has been suggested. involved are (a) friction separation parallel inclined (b) compression corner into flexural zone block. An example standard highway bridge stringer given illustrate procedure. (FHWA)
