摘要: This paper reviews the most recent progress in exploring silicon-mediated resistance to herbivorous insects and mechanisms involved. The aim is determine whether any mechanism seems more common than others as well are pronounced silicon-accumulating non-silicon-accumulating species or monocots eudicots. Two types of counter insect pest attacks: physical mechanical barriers biochemical/molecular (in which Si can upregulate prime plant defence pathways against insects). Although studies have examined high accumulators, both accumulators non-accumulators silicon eudicots display similar insects.
