摘要: Abstract In this work, one ternary Al–40Zn–3Cu and six quaternary Al–40Zn–3Cu–(0.5–3)Ni alloys were fabricated by permanent mould casting. Their friction wear behaviour investigated using a conforming block-on-disc type tester after determining their microstructure mechanical properties. The of the alloy consisted aluminium-rich α dendrites, eutectoid α + η θ (CuAl2) phases. additions to these phases, Al3Ni intermetallic particles observed in containing nickel. Tensile strength elongation fracture decreased with increasing nickel addition. However, hardness microhardness phase showed marginal decrease sharp increase content. It was that coefficient frictional heating test duration showing an initial reached steady-state (constant) value. also volume exhibited gradual following percentage surfaces revealed smearing scratches. be dominant mechanism for alloys. As result Al–40Zn–3Cu–Ni more than 1% Ni found superior no as far resistance is concerned.
