摘要: Midbrain dopamine (DA) neurons are not homogeneous but differ in their molecular properties and responses to external stimuli. We examined whether the modulation of excitatory synapses on DA by rewarding or aversive stimuli depends brain area which these project. identified neuron subpopulations slices after injection "Retrobeads" into single target areas adult mice found differences basal synaptic properties. Administration cocaine selectively modified cells projecting nucleus accumbens (NAc) medial shell while an stimulus prefrontal cortex. In contrast, NAc lateral were both stimuli, presumably reflects saliency. These results suggest that mesocorticolimbic system may be comprised three anatomically distinct circuits, each aspects motivationally relevant
