摘要: Trauma and surgery have been well recognised as risk factors for developing chronic pain. The first published article on post-surgical pain (CPSP) was in 1998 by Crombie colleagues. Since then this concept has gained increasing popularity, evidenced the dramatic increase number of research publications focussing post surgical states1,5. Despite awareness, still remains poorly is under estimated a cause related morbidity. Post thoracotomy syndrome one such which challenge to treating physician both terms morbidity individual incurring health costs society 2, 3, 5. Thoracotomy incisions are considered amongst most painful it involves significant amount trauma distraction forces multiple muscle layers, fascia, neurovascular bundles, bone joints parietal pleura all these being sensitive structures. This may also involve rib resection if surgically required4,6. A state, occurs after intervention, called (PTPS). International Association Study Pain defined ‘Pain that recurs or persists along incision atleast two months procedure’7.
