摘要: An experimental study of damage tolerance under quasi-static indentation (QSI) was performed for sandwich composite panels consisting 16-ply carbon–epoxy facesheets bonded to an aluminum honeycomb core. To determine how and compression strength after depend on the facesheet layup, three stacking sequences were used, varying maximum ply angle change placement outermost 0° ply. Similarly, effect core parameters following indentation, cores with density thickness studied. Specimens indented in QSI barely visible threshold by spherical indenters 25.4 or 76.2 mm diameters.
