摘要: The purpose of this study was to investigate the use [1-{sup 11}C]acetate as a metabolic tracer for renal imaging in human subjects. Eighteen patients underwent dynamic PET kidneys after intravenous bolus injection 10-20 mCi 11}C]acetate. Time-activity curves parenchyma activity were fitted two-compartment model using direct arterial blood sampling input function. Renal uptake is prompt and high target-to-background ratios are achieved even presence markedly reduced Carbon-11-acetate cleared from without any urinary excretion rate clearance comparable myocardial rates. Among normal subjects, K{sub 1} ranged 0.653 1.37 ml/min-g, low 0.363 ml/min-g severe disease (serum creatinine greater than 5 mg/dl), while k{sub 2} 0.114 0.166 min{sup {minus}1} among subjects 0.053 disease. Kinetic parameters both intrinsic or significant artery stenosis. cell carcinoma demonstrated similar 11}C]acetate, but substantially more » compared diseased non-neoplastic tissue, allowing ready differentiation tissue on images acquired beyond 10 min administration. promising physiologic 26 refs., 6 figs., 1 tab. « less
