摘要: As the activities and capacity of veterinary institutions have declined across sub-Saharan Africa, control trypanosomiasis has been left largely in hands farmers, who spend US$ 30 to 40 million a year on trypanocides protect their livestock. The launching Pan-African Tsetse Trypanosomiasis Eradication Campaign (PATTEC) mobilised support from African leaders funding which may provide continent with window opportunity intervene effectively disease. But only if its initial programmes are seen be successful – terms areas targeted, goals set, effectiveness dealing tsetse cost will governments, donors livestock keepers invest further rather than continue rely trypanocides.
