摘要: The squad rosters of the participating teams at recent editions biennial African Cup Nations reveals that majority Africa's elite football players ply their trade in Europe and this is a trend increasing year by year. For example, 2000 tournament cohosted Ghana Nigeria, just over 50 percent were signed to European club. 2002 competition Mali, figure had increased 66 for 2004 edition Tunisia it stood 67 percent. Although exodus talent has accelerated significantly since early 1990s, important recognize process long historical roots. This article examines changing patterns transit footballers demonstrates ways which these have been underpinned broader developments within political economy world football.
