摘要: Natural killer T (NKT) cells are a conserved subpopulation of lymphocytes that recognize glycolipid antigens in CD1d context. Upon activation through their semi-invariant cell receptor, these rapidly release large amounts immunomodulating Th1 and Th2 cytokines. NKT have therefore been implicated immune responses controlling various diseases, including infection, cancer, transplantation, autoimmunity. Stimulation the immunoregulatory capacity by prototypical antigen alpha-galactosylceramide results amelioration disease several animal models. This review will focus on current knowledge human role autoimmune diseases. The features importance regulation autoimmunity suggest cell-based therapies might be an interesting approach for treatment
