摘要: Publisher Summary In a study, among typical ganglion cells, occasional small cells were observed to exhibit an extremely bright yellow fluorescence. It was later shown that the fluorescence of these called “small intensely fluorescent cells” (SIF cells) remained essentially unchanged after division pre- or postganglionic nerves close although latter caused almost complete disappearance histochemically demonstrable catecholamines from cytoplasm ordinary cells. The were, therefore, considered new variety non-chromaffin amine-storing and because color yellow, monoamine, perhaps 5-hydroxytryptamine, thought be stored in secretory granules SIF same manner as adrenal medulla. study presented this chapter undertaken constancy, number, distribution yet unexamined, well problem amine responsible for their intense formaldehyde-induced Sometimes cell processes surrounded intimate contact with them, beadings impinging on cytoplasm. Clusters also nerve tracts inside preganglionic trunks near sometimes directly bodies.
