摘要: The mechanisms of antibody binding to a protein were studied by an analysis specific amino acid residues critical nine antigenic sites on myohemerythrin. Rabbit antisera the whole assayed for more than 1500 distinct peptide analogs differing from sequence single replacements. results, combined with information three-dimensional crystallographic structure, used evaluate probable at individual sites. data all examined indicate that initial solvent-exposed may promote local side-chain displacements and thereby allow participation other, previously buried, residues.
