摘要: A device for the measurement of thermal properties phase change materials and, in general, medium conductivity materials, is described. The measuring cell a modified version guarded hot plate technique, here designed about 8‐cm‐diam samples. well‐known difficulty arises such device: its limitation when sample cross section becomes too small with respect to thickness. finite‐element model used study shape isotherms thick (10 cm) different configurations device. This analysis has led selection optimum design. It shows that instrument able handle samples diameter thickness ratio 1 so far as heat transfer coefficient remains beneath some limits (here 100 W/m2 K). control system also described and typical results are presented.
