摘要: The aim of this study was to determine the effect a longer interval between neoadjuvant chemoradiation and surgery on perioperative morbidity oncologic outcomes. A colorectal cancer database queried for clinical stage II III rectal patients undergoing followed by proctectomy 1997 2007. regimen consisted long course external beam radiation 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy. Patients with inflammatory bowel disease, hereditary cancer, extracolonic malignancy, urgent surgery, or non-validated treatment dates were excluded. divided into two groups according (<8 ≥8 weeks). Perioperative complications outcomes compared. One hundred seventy-seven included. Groups comparable respect demographics, tumor, characteristics. not affected surgery. ≥8 weeks after experienced significant improvement in pathologic complete response rate (30.8% vs. 16.5%, p = 0.03) had decreased 3-year local recurrence (1.2% 10.5%, p = 0.04). Cox regression analysis performed assess compounding outcome. correlated less recurrence, although statistical significance reached (p = 0.07). An is safe associated higher recurrence.
