摘要: Objectives Opacities in tooth enamel were found 34% of 8-year-old Icelandic children 1970. This study aimed to measure the current prevalence non-fluorotic opacities maxillary incisors and determine if their occurrence was related significant events medical history. Design The demarcated recorded photographically by calibrated examiners. Setting Subjects lived Reykjavik, Iceland. Sample methods A random sample 290 aged eight years examined 1997-8. Parents asked child had a history (i) colic as an infant and/or (ii) repeated middle-ear infection. Results Demarcated white lesions, not resembling fluorosis, seen 41% (teeth photographed wet) rising 51% dry). Enamel hypoplasia 11% wet teeth 15% dry teeth. 94/288 (32.6%) reported that 52/94 (55.3%) received medication. Three episodes or more infections per year for 123/290 (42.4%) children. Significant association between presence otitis media. Diffuse opacities, assumed be associated with from Conclusions Non-fluoride are still prevalent especially those infancy. Without careful diagnosis these might confused fluorosis.
