摘要: In both hydrology and geomorphology, conceptualization plays an important role in interpreting existing data, guiding future data collection, developing models. Concept-development simulation can be a useful tool for understanding how hydrogeomorphic systems work. Here, model classification, the issues of scale, performance testing are discussed. examples, based upon ‘what if’ with integrated (InHM), given small rangeland catchment Oklahoma (i.e., runoff generation), dammed watershed California hydrologically driven erosion), Hawaiian island Kaho'olawe erosion). The reductionist approach to concept-development is fully demonstrated comprehensive InHM simulations data-rich Coos Bay experimental pore–water pressure development related slope instability). various calls detailed, long-duration field-monitoring programs at selected catchments renewed, as search landscape evolution begs data-intensive discovery.
