摘要: The dense neuropil of the caudate nucleus is notable for its content neurohumoral substances thought to be important in synaptic transmission. High concentrations acetylcholine (MacIntosh 1941) and enzymes required synthesis (Feldberg Vogt 1948; Hebb Silver 1956) catabolism (Burgen Chipman 1951) are found this structure. unusually large concentration dopamine other basal ganglia prompted initial suggestion that may have a physiologic function than as precursor norepinephrine some brain areas (Carlsson, Lindqvist, Magnusson 1957). In addition, there also relatively serotonin (Bogdanski, Weissbach, Udenfriend 1957) gamma-amino butyric acid (Baxter Roberts 1960), lower levels (Vogt 1954) histamine (McGeer 1964).
