摘要: Abstract Paternal experiences (i.e. nutritional, hormonal, toxins, social, stress) can induce significant variation in phenotype and these effects persist across generations. Investigations of the mechanistic pathways linking paternal experience to offspring grand-offspring outcomes have implicated epigenetic modifications as a plausible route through which are achieved. Within this framework, environmentally induced occurs male gametes is maintained following post-fertilization reprogramming, alters gene activity offspring, transmitted subsequent generations via germline. There increasing evidence support hypothesized inheritance here we discuss potential role altered DNA methylation, post-translational histone modifications, small RNAs transgenerational effects. However, within our expanding understanding mechanisms effects, it important incorporate more inclusive notion that includes genetic, epigenetic, paternal–maternal interplay. In chapter, authors factors transmission consider adaptive consequence inherited phenotypes.
