Magnetic-field switching of crystal structure in an orbital-spin-coupled system: MnV2O4.

摘要: We studied the magnetic and structural properties of spinel ${\mathrm{MnV}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{4}$, which has $S=5/2$ spin with no orbital degrees freedom on ${\mathrm{Mn}}^{2+}$ site $S=1$ three ${\mathrm{V}}^{3+}$ site. found that ferrimagnetic ordering at ${T}_{\mathrm{N}}=56.5\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{K}$ phase transition ${T}_{\mathrm{s}}=53.5\text{ are closely correlated in this compound a switching crystal structure between cubic tetragonal phases by field. This phenomenon can be explained coupling ${t}_{2\mathrm{g}}$ states V
